There are no specific formats for outlines in MLA style. The OWL at Purdue provides these general guidelines for creating an outline that you may want to use or you can talk to your instructor about how they'd like outlines to be formatted.
For further help please contact the Wolak Learning Center at 603.645.9606 (UC/On Campus Students) and Online Writing Center at 866.721.1662 (Online/COCE Students) for assistance with formatting an outline in MLA Style.
You may also want to consider:
- Where can I find a sample of what MLA format should look like?
- How do I format a paper in MLA style?
This information is intended to be a guideline, not expert advice. Please be sure to speak to your professor about the appropriate way to format an outline in your class assignments and projects.
