You can find industry sales figures in IBISWorld and MarketLine Advantage.

You can access industry sales figures in IBIS World by following these steps:

  1. Select A-Z Database List on the library homepage. under "Quick Links"
  2. Choose "I" from the alphabet
  3. Find IBIS World on the list of databases available there.
  4. Once you have opened the database you can search for industry.
    • When you search by industry, results will be sorted by US v. Global

  5. Revenue information by year can be found under the “Key Statistics” tab.

    • You can download the information into an excel spreadsheet. 

Marketline Advantage also contains industry sales figures by individual country reports.  This is useful if you wanted to know, for example, how the new car industry in Japan is faring.

You can access industry sales figures in MarketLine Advantage by following these steps:

  1. Select A-Z Database List on the library homepage. under "Quick Links"
  2. Choose "M" from the alphabet
  3. Find MarketLine Advantage on the list of databases available there.
  4. In the search options drop down menu select “Industry Profiles”
  5. Enter industry
    • You can limit by geographical information, industry, and publication date.
  6. Once in a report click on Market Data on the right-hand side of the screen.

    • This information can be downloaded into various formats.
