One of the last steps in ensuring library resources are going to work for users is to verify that the links you created and used in the LMS actually work. We have a few recommendations to ensure you are getting the best information when testing and verifying.

  1. Make sure you are OFF the SNHU network. Testing library links when you are at work and connected to the SNHU network, or if you are working remote and connected via VPN will not accurately simulate off-campus use. We want to replicate the experience of a user that is at home, on the train, at work, etc., and accessing library materials. You could also use a wifi hotspot as well.
  2. Copy and paste the URL from your blueprint or the LMS build into a new browser. Make sure you have cleared your cookies and cache recently, as our databases often get "mucked" up with this information and can cause access issues. Also, make sure you haven't signed into my.snhu recently.
  3. Does the resource load and open to the correct spot you intended? If yes, great! If not, try clearing your cookies and cache. If that doesn't fix the problem, review the database's linking instructions.
  4. Still experiencing issues? Contact a member of the eLearning team at elibrarian@snhu.edu

Note: When library links are placed into Microsoft programs like Excel or Word and sometimes also Google Docs, the URLs can accidentally be changed by the programs. If you are working off of one of these tools, double-check the links before you pull them out of these documents to make sure the links are still correct and usable.
