Please do not use this resource in a course. While the library subscribes to many rich resources for students to access, there are a number of resources that are not designed for thousands of users or library vendors do not provide permission for use in courses. Per Harvard's contract with EBSCO/the Library, we are NOT able to directly link to articles within Harvard Business Review.

If no suitable alternatives are found, the following guidelines can be used to direct students to search for the Harvard Business Review content on their own:

  1. Locate your desired article(s) in the Harvard Business Review journal within the Business Source Ultimate - EBSCO database.
  2. Record the article's title
  3. Grab the permanent URL to the Business Source Ultimate - EBSCO database from the A-Z Database List (right-click on the database name and copy link)
  4. Work with an instructional designer (Global Campus*) to craft the entry in the LMS. Start with the article title. Link the database permanent URL to the article title. Include instructions for the user to click on the article title and when inside the database, to search for the article title and read the HTML/PDF full-text option.

The entry in the LMS will look something like this:

What the Best Mentors Do

Harvard Business Publishing does not allow direct linking to Harvard Business Review articles from learning management systems. To locate this article, click on the article’s title. This will open the search page for the Business Source Ultimate database. Type in the article title “What the Best Mentors Do” and click the Search button. This will bring up the article’s record and link it to its text. Use the "Access now (PDF)" button to open and read the article.

*The directions and standard language for this database are included in the style guide for Global Campus
