You can use the Multi Search This link opens in a new window tool to search for a book by the author's name.

  1. From within the Multi Search, click on "Advanced Search" in the right corner above the search box.
  2. From the "All Fields" dropdown menu, select "Author - AU".
  3. Enter the author’s last name and then the first name, separated by commas. For example, if you are looking for a book by Toni Morrison, type in, "Morrison, Toni".
Morrison, Toni typed into the Advanced Search bar on the Shapiro Library website

  4. Once you select "Search," you can select "All Filters" from the top of the page and use the filters to narrow your search by publication type. If you are looking for a print book, select, "Catalog Only." If you are looking for an article or ebook, select, "Electronic Full Text".

You can also search for eBooks and articles by author’s name in the individual library databases listed in the A-Z Database List. In most databases, you can again choose the “Advanced Search” option and select “Author” from the dropdown menu provided.
