You can find industry sales figures in IBISWorld and MarketLine (Explorer).
IBIS World
You can access industry sales figures in IBIS World This link opens in a new window by following these steps:
- Select A-Z Database List on the library homepage under "Quick Links"
- Choose "I" from the alphabet
- Find IBIS World on the list of databases available there
- Once you have opened the database you can search by industry
- When you search by industry, results will be sorted by US v. Global
- When you search by industry, results will be sorted by US v. Global
- Revenue information by year can be found under the “Key Statistics” tab.
- You can download the information into an excel spreadsheet.
MarketLine (Explorer)
MarketLine (Explorer) also contains industry sales figures by individual country reports. This is useful if you wanted to know, for example, how the new car industry in Japan is faring.
You can access industry sales figures in MarketLine (Explorer) This link opens in a new window by following these steps:
- Select A-Z Database List on the library homepage under "Quick Links"
- Choose "M" from the alphabet
- Find MarketLine (Explorer) on the list of databases available there.
- Once the database loads, click on the "Explorer" icon under Cross Industry Intelligence Centers.
- In the menu across the top of the page, click on "Reports," and then click on “Industry Profiles”
- Search for the industry. You can limit by geographical information, industry, and publication date.
- You can view the report in your browser, or download it as a PDF or Word document. Look for the section on Market Data.
