A PMID is the unique identifier number used in MEDLINE - EBSCO and PubMed. The PMID is assigned to each article record when it enters the PubMed system. The PMID can be found on the article's record page. PMIDs do not change over time or during processing and are never reused.
To search by PMID in MEDLINE you need to conduct an advanced search. Follow these steps:
- Access MEDLINE from the A-Z Database List.
- Click on advanced search.
- Enter the PMID in the search box.
- Next to the search boxes, there are menus with "Select a Field (optional)"
- Select PMID in the menu
- Click search
