Overview
As part of our transition to an EBSCO-hosted library system, you may see a prompt to continue personalized when searching the library's databases. Starting December 9, 2024, this account will also serve as your library account.
Key Benefits of MyEBSCO Accounts:
- Check out physical materials from the library (beginning December 9, 2024).
- Save searches and articles for future use.
- View search history across sessions.
- Download eBooks and place holds on catalog items.
What Information Is Collected?
To create your MyEBSCO account, EBSCO collects:
- Your first and last name
- Your SNHU email address
- Your SNHU ID
This minimal information is used only to manage and secure your account.
Can I Skip This Prompt?
- If you do not consent to creating an account, it won’t be created.
- You can still use most EBSCO features anonymously, but some functionality (e.g., saving items or requesting physical materials) won’t be available.
- The prompt will reappear during future logins or when using features requiring an account.
Accessing Patron Empowerment Features Without a MyEBSCO Account
Users who choose not to create a MyEBSCO account will not have access to Patron Empowerment Features in EBSCO Discovery Service (Multi-Search), such as:
- Placing holds on physical materials.
- Viewing due dates for checked-out items.
- Renewing checked-out materials.
If you need assistance with these features, the library team is happy to help. Simply reach out to shapirolibrary@snhu.edu for support.
Privacy and Security
- EBSCO does not sell your data.
- Shared data is used only to deliver and improve research tools.
- Learn more in EBSCO’s Privacy Policy This link opens in a new window and SNHU's Privacy Policy This link opens in a new window.
