Interlibrary Loan Policies

Answer

Interlibrary Loan Policy

Interlibrary loan This link opens in a new window provides current SNHU students, faculty, faculty emeritus, and staff with access to material not held at Shapiro Library. To place a request, please login to your interlibrary loan account using your MySNHU username and password. Most requests are filled within 3-5 business days although some requests may take 7-15 business days or longer.

Before placing a request for materials from another library, please check the Library Book Search or Publication Finder This link opens in a new window to be sure that the Shapiro Library does not own the material that you are requesting.

PLEASE NOTE: Interlibrary loan materials can not be used as course readings (neither optional or required). It is a violation of copyright law to use an article, book, or book chapter obtained from interlibrary loan in this way. Interlibrary loan is only an option for students, faculty, and staff who need to use a material for personal research, not as a replacement for course text.  If there is a material which the Shapiro Library does not own or have access to that needs to be used as course text, please contact Learning Resources for more information/options.
