Linking in Gale databases follows one of two protocols, except Business Insights databases (see separate entries). Full list of Gale databases.

In Gale, Gale Literature, Gale Onefile, Gale in Context and Gale Primary Sources Databases:

  1. Perform a search in the Gale database of your choice and locate your desired article or content material.
  2. Click on the article's title to open the full text view.
  3. Look in the Gale database toolbar at the top of the screen and click on the "Get Link" option.
  4. Copy the URL from the pop-up.
  5. Use the URL in the LMS.

The permanent URL that is ready to placed in the LMS will look like this:

https://link.gale.com/apps/portal/00000000LVWV/OVIC?u=nhc_main&sid=bookmark-OVIC&xid=36c28b40

 

In Gale Interactive Databases:

  1. Perform a search in the Gale Interactive database of your choice and locate your desired activity.
  2. Click on the article's title to open the activity.
  3. Look in the informational toolbar below the activity view and click on the "Get Link," "Link to Activity," or "Link to Slide" option as appropriate.
  4. Copy the URL from the resulting display.
  5. Use the URL in the LMS.

The permanent URL that is ready to placed in the LMS will look like this:
