- Perform a search in ScienceDirect This link opens in a new windowand locate your desired article.
- Click on the title of your chosen article to view the html text (if you are coming from the Full Text Finder, choose view the record page).
- There are two acceptable ways to build links using Science Direct. You may use the DOI URL or the URL from your browser's address bar. Both need can have the OpenAthens authentication added. Either is acceptable. Locate and copy the DOI URL underneath the article title and authors OR the URL from your address bar.
- Copy and paste the DOI URL OR the address bar URL into the OpenAthens Generator This link opens in a new window.
- Use the generated URL in the LMS.
NOTE: Any amount of users can access, ScienceDirect owns and publishes this content (content is rarely removed), but contract is under negotiation as of July 2025 and may limit access until resolution is reached.
The permanent URL that is ready to placed in the LMS will look like this: https://go.openathens.net/redirector/snhu.edu?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.sciencedirect.com%2Freferencework%2F9780080970875%2Finternational-encyclopedia-of-the-social-and-behavioral-sciences%23book-description or https://www.sciencedirect.com/book/9780323984348/encyclopedia-of-biodiversity
The International Encyclopedia of the Social & Behavioral Sciences This link opens in a new window and the Encyclopedia of Biodiversity This link opens in a new window are both available through ScienceDirect and follow the linking instructions above.
