There is a wide variety of information available to support student learning in courses. When considering web sources, consider if Shapiro library has access to the same content or another source that can serve the same purpose. Why?

Resources in the library's databases:

  • do not include ads or intrusive pop-ups
  • are less likely to be removed without notice
  • don't include view limits or paywalls that ask students to purchase access
  • promote library resource use

Not all resources on the web are available through Shapiro Library. It's a good idea to check, especially when you're considering an article in an online periodical. Some periodicals share content that is also published in print or through databases, and online only content. Use the Publication Finder to see if we have access through Shapiro Library and link accordingly.

If the content you've found online is a book, you can check our databases with eBooks & eBook Chapters to see if we have it.
