Download Options for EBook Central
You have two ways to download content from Ebook Central - ProQuest: This link opens in a new window
- Download individual chapters
- Download the whole book.
Please Note: Downloading eBooks is not required to read them. You can read eBooks online within the database. See FAQ: How do I view the full text of an eBook? for more information.
Download eBook Chapters
You can download individual chapters as PDFs. Just scroll down to the chapter you want in the Table of Contents and click the “Download PDF” link. Please be aware of the page limits. In the example below, you are limited to 92 pages per session, but the limit will vary by title.

A compatible device: Not all devices work with Adobe Digital Editions. Check the list of supported devices This link opens in a new window.
Check Out Time Limits
Check-out lengths vary per title. In the example below, this eBook may only be checked out for 21 days, and then it expires. You will have to repeat the steps below if 21 days is not enough time.
Steps to Download an eBook
- From the eBook's record page, click "Download Book"
- A pop up window will appear. Ebook Central will ask what device you are using, this will aid you in the installation of the appropriate software. Click continue after you select the device you are using.
- The next screen will show you what software is needed to download the eBook based off the device that you chose on the previous screen. If you are downloading to a computer, it will prompt you to download Adobe Digital Editions. If needed, download the necessary software using the links provided on the screen. Otherwise you will not be able to view the eBook. Click Done with this Step once you have downloaded the necessary software.
- The next screen will show you download options. Select the number of days you would like to check out the book for. The options will vary by title. Then select your preferred download format, EPUB or PDF and click on the Download button.
- Go to your browser's download folder, choose the file you want to open, and the eBook will open in Adobe Digital Editions.
