Troubleshooting Tips
Look For Other Links
Sometimes you will see an error or blank white page when you click on the Full Text Finder link in the Multi-search or our specific library databases. Check to see if there is a ribbon near the top of the page. In the middle of the ribbon the text "If the page does not display, then open the page in a new window" should appear as a hyperlink. Click on that link and the article should open in a new window or tab.
Clear Your Browser's Cache and Cookies
We recommend clearing your browser's cache and cookies for all time on a regular basis. Most of the problems and errors you encounter in our online library are due to browser cache issues. You may also want to try a private browsing mode like Chrome's incognito. Please see the screenshot below to guide you on how to find incognito mode in a Chrome browser.
Next Steps
If the above suggestions do not work and you are still seeing an error or the full text is not displaying, there are a few other things you can try.
Search For the Journal Title
Track down the full text by looking for the journal title where your article was published. Follow the instructions in this FAQ: How do I find a journal, or a list of journals, that the library subscribes to? to locate which database offers full text for that journal and then search for the full text of your article that way. You may need to try more than one database if multiple databases offer full text for the year/month/day that you need.
Google Scholar
Use Google Scholar This link opens in a new window which can be linked up to our library's full text. This FAQ: How can I use Google Scholar to find electronic articles held by the Shapiro Library? shows you how to set up Google Scholar so that you will see a FullText@ShapiroLibrary link over on the right side if we have the full text.
Contact Us
If you are still not able to access full text after trying the above suggestions, please let us know. You have most likely uncovered a broken link and we need to get it fixed. You can email us at ask@snhu.libanswers.com or chat with us 24/7 from our library homepage.
Interlibrary Loan
If all else fails, please go ahead and put in an Interlibrary Loan Request for the article and we will get you the PDF from another library within 2-4 business days for free. If you are not able to wait that long, email us at ask@snhu.libanswers.com and we will do our best to help you find a similar article that is available immediately.
