Chrome
If you are using the Chrome browser and you click on the play icon to have the article read aloud, you may have to click on the icon (it looks like a shield with a red X) to the far right of the address bar (the bar containing the URL for the page) which will allow you to "run unsafe scripts". The script is safe and will then launch the audio. Please note that there is a slight delay before the audio begins.
Firefox
If you are in Firefox, you can click on the text icon (Toggle reader view), also to the far right of the address bar. This will change the page to just text. Once you have the text site up you can click on the voice icon (the vertical bars several different sizes) over on the left which will launch the audio. To go back to the previous page just click the arrow pointing to the left.
Further Steps
If this does not resolve the issue, please contact our IT Help Desk for assistance troubleshooting the ReadSpeaker function.
